and driving…
Wausau, Wisconsin > Lupton, Michigan
Today was our last day on the road - we finally made it back to Michigan! We drove 470 miles in roughly 12 hours, including pit stops.
We continued binging on true crime podcasts and got sucked into the podcast called Your Own Back Yard, a multi episode series on the Kristin Smart case, which is timely because, after 24 years, the murder suspects are finally being charge.
In total, we drove for 45 hours in three days.
We stopped at Walmart to pick up extra totes that we’ll use to pack away most of the stuff in the camper.
Matt had an HOA board meeting, so Liz drove with the trailer in tow for the first time after 74 days and thousands of miles on the road.
We arrived to the cabin around 8:00 PM where dad had dinner grilling. It was the perfect welcome home meal - Johnsonville cheddar bratwursts, sautéed pepper and onions, dad’s specialty smashed potatoes and a glass of ginger ale.
After we ate, we ran over to the Rifle Recreation Area to dump and clean the tanks.
