The trek home begins

Wednesday, August 24th: Grong, Norway > Oslo, Norway

  • We pulled out all of our stuff from the rental car and re-organized it to get as close as we could to the baggage weight limits.

  • We started our drive back to Oslo - over 650 KM and about nine hours on the road. It went faster than our last 8+ hour drive since we weren’t towing a trailer and driving the gas guzzler. Surprisingly, we made it on just one full take of gas.

  • We stopped for gas station hotdogs for lunch, topping them with Bernadine sauce, crispy onions and they’re traditional white hotdog sauce.

  • We put on several true crime podcasts, but couldn’t keep ourselves awake and attentive… so we figured sugar laden snacks would help: pops (basically chocolate covered Cheeto puffs), paprika Sorlands chips, a mixed bag of chocolates and more bulk gummies.

  • Our only other stop was to check out the giant silver moose in Atna.

  • We arrived to the Park Inn by Radisson, had dinner at the hotel restaurant (burger and fish & chips), filled up the gas tank in the rental car and went to bed at midnight - three hours before our alarms would go off.

  • Accommodations: Park Inn by Radisson
