Cliff Jumping PTSD
Oslo, Norway > Kristiansand, Norway
We easily could have slept another four hours this morning. We forced ourselves to get out of bed and and had yogurt with granola for breakfast. The yogurt had rice in it, which sounds strange, but we really didn’t mind it. The granola was a little bland and had a lot less sugar than we were used to back home.
We packed up the car and left the AirB&B, driving three hours around the southern coast to Kristiansand.
We parked downtown and walked through town: the marina, the fish market, past the performing arts center, markens gate (downtown with shops and restaurants), a little community garden, etc.
we stopped at Gotti to peruse the stretch of bulk candy to the back of the store. We picked two of each kind that caught our eye… some good, some not so good and some terrible
We went to the supermarket to get supplies for dinner: two beef burger patties and frozen Mexican potato hash.
We checked into the campground (Roligheden) for only $15 / night. They really packed in the campervans, but there were a couple of decent, secluded tent spots up on the hill. We claimed ours as a German mom and son quickly followed behind us and tried to snatch it when we went to collect our things. The German mother gave us dirty looks the rest of the evening.
We re-organized the stuff in the car and made dinner. We quickly began to realize that the Europeans do things a little differently than we do. We struggled with some basic tasks, like working the induction stove.
After dinner, we walked the grounds. They had a three tier jumping / diving platform and Liz had a mixture of PTSD and desire for redemption. Several people were jumping and belly flopping into the water.
