Home sweet home
Lupton, Michigan
We woke up to the sound of Abby and Oslo running up and down the stairs - it was play time apparently.
Dad made us a breakfast of champions: fried eggs, toast with roasted garlic and topped with pesto, bacon and fried potatoes. We were ready for a nap after clearing our plates.
We got to work. We unpacked the camper, cleaned every drawer and shelf and organized everything in totes. It took a while because we were very tired from all the driving, a little short on space and totes, plus we were trying to categorize everything: (a) stuff that stays in the camper, (b) stuff to pack in totes that also stays in the camper, (c) stuff we are taking to abroad, (d) stuff we need for this weekend only (e) stuff we wont need until returning home for good.
We continued to listen to Your Own Backyard about the Kristin Smart missing person case.
We did two weeks worth to of laundry, power washed the roof of the camper, cleaned the awning and dumped the tanks. Matt cut his foot on one of the roof vents. When washing the blood off the roof, Rick thought it a bunch of dirt.
We met grandpa at The Faul Inn for an early dinner, indulging on a chicken alfredo pizza and a burger.
Dad had been trying to sell the 2007 Saturn Vue since they bought the Subaru Outback with a homemade for sale sign in the front yard (a little bigger and bolder than his “found dog” sign written on an old paper bag). Matt listed it on Facebook Marketplace and received a serious inquiry just hours later. The man and his elderly father had blown the head gasket in their Equinox and came by for a test drive. 20 minutes later and they were pulling out of the driveway with the car and dad was $2,500 richer.
