Do they put sunscreen everywhere?
Monday, October 3rd: Crete. Greece
Today was an…interesting experience. We went to a beach that was described to be a normal family friendly beach with a nudist friendly section at the south end. We arrived and nothing looked out of the ordinary. The road was lined with cars outside of the beachfront cafes and there were umbrella sets as far down the beach as we could see. People were in bathing suits and playing with their kids. We were pleasantly surprised. Then we made an honest attempt to find a shady spot and dodge the wind. The waves crashing on the beach looked tamer at the far end, so we started making our way. Finally the bodies came into view and we realized this large group of sunbathers were completely naked. SAGGY BOOBS AND SHLONGS EVERYWHERE. I think it’s safe to say no one lacked self confidence on that beach, but certainly lacked clothing. I just worry about sun protection - let’s hope they lathered on the SPF in every nook and cranny of their skin folds. How’s that for a visual?
We back-tracked, feeling much safer in the clothed section of the beach. We relaxed and read for a while before heading back for the evening.
