Just a couple of juice smugglers
Sioux Falls, SD > Interior, SD (Badlands National Park)
Enjoyed our complimentary breakfast buffet at the Sheraton (first time we’ve eaten “out” all trip)
We took a bunch of extra juices, yogurts and a box of tissue for our journey - we’re becoming vultures
Arrived to the Badlands National Park
Very rainy and windy, so we set up camp and made a healthy snack for the upcoming road trip - protein / energy bits
Explored the park:
Perused the visitor center: learned about the rock formations developing over the last 75 million years, the expected animals that roamed here and the more recent history aid the Lakota Indians
Strolled one of the boardwalk trails and saw a few mule deer
Short hike at Notch Trail; cable ladder
Badlands Loop Road
Stopped to feed peanuts to prairie dogs (Oslo was very curious and excited to meet his new furry friends)
Wall Drug (old western style storefront)
Caught several bison grazing on the prairie (plus hundreds of prairie dogs)
