Got my hair did
Canmore, Alberta (Bow River)
Matt got a haircut at Prohibition Beard & Bourbon while Liz ran errands (scrambling between Safeway and Safeway Liquor multiple times - picking out hotdogs > remembering we can’t refrigerate them for several hours > replacing the propane tank > getting champagne > getting sparkling apple juice > getting champagne flutes > realizing the propane tank they gave me was empty)
Went to The Wood for lunch; it was nice enough to sit on the patio and Oslo was able to accompany us
This was our first real meal out (not including the free breakfast at the Sheraton or Chik Fil A)… the food tasted better than it really was because of that
We went to the Canmore Registry office to pick up our marriage license
Drove to Bow Lake to scout out the ceremony site - the lake was still partially frozen (but that didn’t keep Oslo from swimming) and snow still covered some parts of the path
Saw two beavers meandering up and down the stream near the culvert
Drove to Peyto Lake; the 0.4 mile path was largely covered with snow, but manageable with hiking poles and a careful step; the new viewing platform was nice, but we’ll need to hop the fence for the best shots
A herd of elk crossed the road about 100 yards from the entrance of the campground
We came back and found lilacs on our picnic table in a blue solo cup… likely a nice gesture from our neighbor Cathy
