Last day on the river

Friday, October 28th: Santa Elena, Argentina (+Santa Fe, Argentina)

  • It was our last day on the Parana, and Matt and Tim were together with Roberto and Gustavo while Liz remained in Santa Fe. The morning was active with numerous fish missing / rejecting the flies presented. Tim caught a palometa and a couple of small dorado, and Matt caught several sabalo (not to be confused with Spanish Saturdays “sabado”) and a decent dorado. Matt and Tim enjoyed a traditional carne asado style shore lunch and a much needed nap. The post-lunch fishing was a little slow, but picked up toward the end of the day. Matt and Tim had filet mignon and an Argentinian version of spinach dip for dinner.  Meanwhile, Liz enjoyed the hotel continental breakfast, had a work call in the afternoon, walked around Sante Fe, attempted to exchange cash at the blue dollar rate and had calamari and mushroom ravioli for dinner while watching “The Luckiest Girl Alive” on Netflix.

  • Accommodations: Bahia Rosales, Santa Elena / Los Silos, Santa Fe, Argentina
