On the road again
Sunday, September 11th: Ann Arbor, Michigan > Montreal, Canada
It was time to get back on the road! We got up early, supplemented out breakfast with a few last bites of Crumble cookies and headed to the airport with Emily, Bill and Oslo.
It was our first time flying out of North Terminal (now called Evans) in years, maybe decades. We instantly missed Macnamara and flying Delta. We could hardly locate the Air Canada ticketing and baggage drop counter as is was squeezed between the carriers with a larger presence in Detroit. We waited in line for what felt like an hour and then we had to go through the general security line since our known traveler numbers were not applied to our tickets when we checked in. We boarded the plane, which was maybe half full, and passed out for the entire flight.
We arrived in Montreal and the international airport was fairly quiet with only half of the restaurants open on Sunday. We grabbed a coffee and hung out for awhile before tracking down an Air Canada flight attendant to move our seats. It was a fully flight, but thankfully he bumped the person in the aisle to arrange us together, avoiding the middle-middle option.
After five hours of waiting, we boarded the flight, watched TV / movies through dinner service and then slept to avoid the same degree of jet lag we endured in Norway.
