Tim’s here!!
Thursday, October 20th: Foz do Iguacu, Brazi
It was still raining in the morning as we packed up and left our AirB&B. We stopped at a laundromat that was converted from a shipping container in the parking lot of the Shell gas station.
Afterwards we went to the ATIV gym. It was the holy grail of gyms. All of the equipment was matte black with a few carbon fiber accents. The machines were perfectly spaced and arranged on the floor. They had every type of grip, and everything was in its rightful place. The people were young and mostly fit. And it was clear that appearances and plastic surgery were a staple in the Brazilian culture (it is called a “Brazilian” butt lift after all).
We stopped at Italo for groceries and made our way to the next AirB&B. We drove away from the city and down a red dirt road where there were farms and grazing cows. We arrived and the caretaker gave us a personalized tour of the place. It was probably close to 2,000+ square feet with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, master bedroom balcony, covered patio and detached outdoor kitchen.
We picked up Tim from the airport and went to dinner at Park de Foz. We were the first to arrive for dinner and chose a table near the window that sat six. Though we thought the table space was excessive, we covered every inch with food. We ordered a porterhouse steak, short ribs, wagyu burger and filet bites covered in gorgonzola. We left the restaurant bursting at the seams.
When we returned to the AirB&B, Tim unpacked his sack like Santa on Christmas. He handed out “presents” – the long-awaited packages we shipped to his house, including ready-to-eat meals, down jackets, Gas X and more.
